NEWS: And the Best Man Booker Prize Winner is . . . The English Patient
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Man Booker Prize, judges chose what they regarded as the best winners from each of the past five decades. Then, the public was polled about which of the five they regarded as the best. The winner: Michael Ondaatje's The English Patient.
The juror who chose it as the best prize winner of the 1990s, novelist Kamila Shamsie, said: “Few novels really deserve the praise: transformative. This one does." Read more about the selection here.
